Amazed by you

I watched a movie the other night called "The Guardian." At the end, while sitting in the silence of the credits rolling and a soft song, I became overwhelmed with thoughts of gratitude. Gratitude for all of our leaders, staff, elders, pastors and friends who genuinely love the Lord and His people. Gratitude for you. You serve your families every day. You share a smile or a kind word with another. Daily, prayers are being lifted on behalf of others.
We are a part of the greatest team. I am so honored to pastor in a house full of believers wild enough to believe the dream. The dream of connecting people to Life.
Yesterday, I was sitting with the wife of an officer. As we began to share, again our thoughts of gratitude, she reminded me of the all-too-often "thankless" job those in service do. I told her about when I first got my driver's license. My heart would pound each time I saw a police car. Silly, I know. It was the result of my selfish thinking and not recognizing the incredible and unselfish service they provide. Each day her husband puts his life in harms way for our safety and protection.
The same holds true for those in our military and other branches of service.
I am amazed by our service men and women. I am amazed by you. All of you who live, love, breathe and take another step towards greatness, each day.
