THANK YOU, ROCK CHURCH!

Thank you Rock Church for joining the worship team for an awesome night of worship!

The evening consisted of a 10-song compilation of favorite songs this Spring at TRC. It was amazing to join with others who are passionate about glorifying God and raising the roof with our praise!

I especially loved the forty-five minutes after the recording where several people stayed and prayed and worshiped with us. It was very reminiscent of days of old when we would sit for hours at a time.

During practice, Aaron Anderson (the human metronome) said, "That run-through was okay but can you just hear the song when all the people are praising? That is what will "make" the song." It is a statement like that and the many God moments we had last night that remind me it is not about whether the song is played to perfection (although we pursue to play skillfully before God) or whether it is even our favorite song but it is about glorifying God. Period. When we do that the way God has uniquely called TRC, we will lead others to do the same.

But when I say it is about glorifying God, it is about the entire room glorifying God. The people in the room make a huge difference.

When I think about where our church has come from, I am humbled by God's desire to continually draw us closer to Him. I get excited to think of the heritage we have. I think about a girl who wouldn't even sing in front of herself in the shower but is now sitting in tears at her computer at just the thought of a church so willing to sign "I'm a little teapot" and so in love with God. My heart is that people can just love God...freely, passionately and unashamedly.

Here are just three testimonies from last night...

"Hi Pastor Mel,
I just wanted to let you know that last night was one of the best nights of worship I can remember in the 4 years I have been at The Rock. I was at the last recording and it was also awesome but last night topped them all!!
I feel so blessed to be able to love each and every moment of worship in my church and think that the team is INCREDIBLE! It is obvious that all of you are not just singing but truefully pouring out praise to God. It is a blessing to watch and hear. I can't wait to hear this CD. How long do we have to wait??? I am so excited!
Blessings to you and yours!
Heidi"

Another said, "It felt like a dam had been broken in the Spirit (in a good way)."

I received a text from a wonderful friend who said, "My back was healed during service last night."

There is power in our praise. In the Bible, entire armies were defeated when God's people praised. Hearts were mended and evil spirits left when there was a musician. We can praise anywhere, anytime, in any situation and with any person. That's freedom and that's power! Wherever and whenever we do, there God moves.
That is what you are going to get with this CD. You are going to get the anointing that resides on not just the song but the moment that happens when God inhabits the praises of His people. He is magnified and the moment is magnified.

We are pushing to have it out sometime this summer!
