This week is National Police Week. If you see the blue ribbons tied to antennas, it is commemorating this. May 15th was Peace Officers' Memorial Day. I feel bad writing about May 15th after the fact. I just found out about it and feel it is important to lift the families of lost officers up in prayer.
The C.O.P.S. website has a snip about this week stating it is a week "commemorating law enforcement officers, past and present, who, by their faithful and loyal devotion to their responsibilities, have rendered a dedicated service to their communities and, in so doing, have established for themselves an enviable and enduring reputation for preserving the rights and security of all citizens."
I feel strongly about our obligation to pray for our leaders as well as those in civil service. The Bible calls these ministers of justice. I daily pray for them. Take a moment now and when you think of them to pray for peace, protection, wisdom and grace. Include their families. I don't know what it is like to be a family of someone in civil service but can only imagine the opportunities for anxiety and worry. With Jesus, our future is secure and we are promised good. I pray those who don't have that peace and confidence find Jesus.
Thank you to all law enforcement officers both present and retired. You daily risk your life for our protection, order and that we may sleep at night...that doesn't begin to scratch the surface. I appreciate you, continue to speak highly of you and include you in my prayers.
Great big Shout Out to Ryan, Brian and the Monroe Police Department!

Pastor Melinda,
As a police officer, I would like to thank you and everyone else for the prayers. It means a lot to have the covering of you, Pastor Jeff, and the rest of the church. As I have shared with some people, there are situations that I have walked away from saying to myself, "That would have gone south real fast, had I not had the protection that only Jesus can provide, and the covering of the people praying for me". And, your right, with Jesus, our future, IS secure and we ARE promised good. Because of that, I LOVE my job and am blessed that I can say with confidence that I am right were God wants me to be.
There are a number of other co-workers that are also very thankful for all the prayers. But, there are also some that don’t know the peace and protection that Jesus gives. Thank you for also praying for them. Your support of them is a great witness to them, and I can see Gods work happening in my department.
I thank God for your prayers,
Ryan Moody
