MY MAN, THE PROTECTOR/PROVIDER

Many times, we as wives can put unrealistic expectations on our men to be "our definition" of these spiritual power houses. Face it, whether it is prayer alone, prayer with us, bible reading, shouting out God's praise or bringing insight to the home, we have a definition deep down inside of what our man should be like.

LET IT GO!

I say it bluntly but with all the love in my heart. I learned a long time ago, our men can only be the men of God they were created to be when we let go of the expectations. When I know someone is watching me or critiquing my every move...WOW! The stress rises and the mistakes happen. There's no freedom in that. I don't know about you but I don't have a grasp on the great man God is molding my husband into. Every day I am amazed. If I get in the way or inadvertently shape him with my expectations, I am going to get less than the best.

Men are indistinctly protectors and providers. Nurturing, emotions and discernment are not high on their list of skills. I am the first person to say each person is created differently and some men will be strong in some or even all of the aforementioned qualities. 99% of the time, men will not fit the same spiritual mold as women.

So, the next time you start to get frustrated with your man or wish he would move quicker in the things of God, take a breather and let God get in the mix. Put the Word into action and "be anxious for nothing but in all things let your requests be known with prayers and supplications to God."

Good morning Pastor Mel -- and AMEN!! The Lord spoke that to me yesterday (through my own mother!) when I was having expectations of him that I shouldn't be. Man -- that freed me to enjoy him and the rest of the family yesterday, and your word -- more confirming words! GREAT word P. Mel --and thank you for yesterday - -you and Jeff together was amazing. The way you work off each other and with each other -- that was so great. You had me laughing so hard, my tummy hurt. You are such a blessing and I love you.
