MOM'S DAY IS AROUND THE CORNER

This is for everyone with a mom or a mother figure. Mom's day is around the corner. Plan ahead and bless her socks off!

Get her a gift card to Gene Juarez or another spa. Find out her nail salon and get a gift certificate. Try Merry Maids or another house cleaning service and give her the day off.

Maybe she would like to race some go-carts around Traxx in Mukilteo.

Or take her to her favorite restaurant (Daniel's Broiler, The Metropolitan Grill, Anthony's) or maybe it's Dick's Drive-In. Make her breakfast in bed. Clean the house. Do the dishes. Pick up your own dishes.

Clean her car. Give her a Starbuck's gift card and then watch the kids so she can sit with a friend or two and be a girlfriend.

Did I say Nordstrom gift card? Think twice before you purchase her that washer or vaccum she has been asking for. You may be "asking for it" if you do.

Send her flowers.

Whatever you do, make her feel special. Plan it now and avoid the rush. Besides, the good cards are usually gone the week before.

GREAT DINNER

Yep! That's lobster and steak, too!
A couple of friends took Jeff and me out to dinner last night at The Metropolitan Grill. It was so good! Our friends had to get a sitter and arrange their schedules to leave work to be with us. We so appreciated that (of course, I love the little guy)! After a long weekend, I will be the first to admit going out isn't the first thing on my list of things I want to do. Last night was different. God has really put in my heart a great appreciation for friendship. I happened to be excited to go out and have fun. That is just what we did...had fun!

The next time you have the opportunity to invite a friend to dinner, coffee, pedicure or just some time together...take it! Enjoy it! I was glad I did.
