SUNDAY'S SONG

This weekend was an incredible weekend. I'll back up to the race at Evergreen Speedway where Jeff raced for the first time on the 5/8s. This is a larger track than he is used to. Larger track equals faster car. Needless to say, I was a bit nervous.

As it turns out, his engine blew after just a few laps of practice. His team was fantastic! They changed the engine and off he went to qualify. Jeff started the race with only those few practice laps under his belt. He finished top 10!

Congratulations Roger for finishing fourth! Wow, what an exciting day at the races. One of his teammates, Tony is heading off to a business trip. I'm praying for a great trip, Tony!

Youth Pastor Travis was off the hook at TVM! The Saturday night youth service is awesome. I hope you get your kids out to it. Our youth camp this year is August 13th-17th. It is going to ROCK their worlds!

I'll throw in that the Lifesaver's Accelerate Kids Camp is August 8th-11th. Preparations for both are in full swing.

Now to Father's Day! What a service! I love Father's Day service because the message is geared right at the men. I love to see them light up when they see the fancy cars, bikes, food and the great message Pastor Jeff brings.

There is nothing more attractive to me than a man passionate after the things of God. We have such an incredible pastor with a father's heart...the heart of The Father. He loves people, life-change, giving, good friends, meeting new friends and going fast!

The band started the service off right with my favorite song, "Life is a Highway" by Rascal Flatts. I make Jeff rock out to it when he drives my car! Okay, he likes it, too. Just not as much as I do, I am sure.

Four first time salvations and lots of hands rededicating and committing their lives to Christ. Now that is what we are here for.

Here's the video Ryan and the crew shot for service...pretty cool.

After service, the rain cleared and we were off to the car/bike show, BBQ, kettle corn and ice cream truck. Thanks to Crosswalk, the band who provided stellar tunes.

Thank you to Speedway Chevrolet, Bickford Ford and Dan Hudson, Bellevue Cadillac, for the XLR; and Monroe Dodge for the NITRO SUV. Every year for the Father's Day Car and Bike show these dealers help us have the nicest looking cars in the worship center for decorations. In addition, Rich Baalman of Les Schwab sent over the entire wheels display with a lot of chrome and some mounted tires.

Happy Father's Day to my dad. He is the best dad. Also, to my brother, Kyle who is the father of two of the cutest kids in the world; Jason and Thalia! I miss you and hope to visit in San Diego soon. Love you.
