P Mel.
Like most kids toys, their purpose is to make noise and annoy the parents.

LOL! Honestly, you might be surprised at how much joy Seven might get from talking to herself on the "phone!" Kenda loves chatting to whomever - I think it's because it's the only way she knows that the person on the other end can understand what she is saying, because a lot of the time I still don't! :)

So true! I was looking to buy a toy for a child. I found a cool Superman car but as I was putting it in the cart it started squealing and making loud noises. Wouldn't stop! I was kind and put it back on the shelf.

Isn't this a dial up phone? Oh, it must be teaching history! LOL

I would say it is one more way for the company to make money....considering infants and toddlers don't understand the between real and pretend the best toys for kids are the one's that are as real as possible. Therefore get your daughter a real phone right away haha j/k

Real one!!! Ahhh...I am not ready for that yet. LOL! I love it!

Okay, the dial up is really funny - I didn't think about that! The scary thing is, I graduated in 1989 from high school, and our family still had a rotary phone...sad. :)

Back in the day, this was a really fun toy for the kids! Not so sure why it is still made! :-)
