Today is day seven of our focused prayer, word and fasting. It marks the final day of reading in Romans.
Today's reading: Romans 15 & 16
Prayer focus: New Provision: Deut. 8:18, 28:12-13; Phil. 4:19; 2 Cor. 9:6-11
What a fantastic first week. I am really proud of all of you! Romans is so key in our walk with Christ. Reading about grace, who we are in Christ, salvation, works...WOW! The list is endless and freeing. Mull over the pages, what was your ahaa moment? I really loved the final chapter listing the many workers. Typically, when I read the many names in the Old Testament, I almost fall asleep. Not this time; I was strengthened by the many who have gone before me and saw how important each person's role is. I can't explain it, but am really filled with love for them and those who give, serve, teach, walk around with the burden for the pre-Christian inside. I hope that doesn't sound cheesey...well, I guess it does but I don't know any other way to describe it.
Yesterday was a difficult day to get everything in. With my own prayer and word time, prayer for service and church, I left some of the reading for today. Yeah, excuses..the important thing is to pick up where you left off and not leave it where I didn't measure up. That reminds me, I am going to get in some exercise today.
What's next? This next week is purely focused prayer. If you haven't tried it before, pray the scriptures. There are corresponding scriptures given for each day. The word is the perfect will of God so when we use the scriptures directly in our prayers, we cannot miss!
I am going to begin fasting a bit this week, to prepare me for next week's fast. Again, I will be posting some great keys to successful fasting; pre, during and post things to know, later in the week.
