WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOING IN MY SPARE TIME?

For the past three weeks, I have been spending my free time and my not-so-free time packing up our house on the lake. Yes, we sold it three weeks ago. Check out Jeff's blog for the whole story. We haven't posted about it because we wanted to wait until it was finished. Needless to say, I haven't had much to blog about because it would have mainly been about packing. Finally, I can let it out!!!! We're moving back to Monroe. Jeff has been building his (notice I didn't say "our") shop and I have been packing. I don't enjoy packing. On sunny days, when people are playing on the lake...I've been watching them through paper, tape and boxes! That's my sad story, now on to better things...

This morning, before Big Parade Day, I packed my final box and gave Brooklyn her final dose of antibiotics (yes, she is better and being spayed didn't calm her down). I have my final load of laundry in the washer. Last night, we had our final dinner and tomorrow, I'll have my final cup of morning coffee (oh wait! I packed the coffee pot! Tragic!). Moving is a good business move but a difficult move in other ways. I love water and love to hear kids laughing because they're having so much fun. I love the fourth of July around the lake. I just love everything about where we are at.

I have come to realize, God is present in every situation. Whether it's our first apartment in college, a tent on the mission field or on the lake, I am one who loves every moment of life. So, when we decided to move, I told Jeff, "I know I will be happy anywhere." We don't even know where we are going to live next week but I know I will be happy and God will be with me! And...I'll love every moment of that, too. We have a few options so we won't be without residence (for those of you who were concerned by that last statement). I have a feeling the Starbuck's baristas will know my name in the next 18 months (length of time to get our house built). Who am I kidding? I'd go to Starbuck's even with a coffee pot at home!
