Last night I had the privilege of going with a friend to the Faith Hill and Tim McGraw Soul2Soul 2 concert.
Last year, Jeff and I drove to Portland to see them and loved it so much we bought tickets on E-bay when we got home and saw them in Seattle the following night! We had the best tickets in the house. Really! I am such a blessed woman.
So, when I heard they were coming back, I looked all over E-bay ('cause I am an E-bay fanatic...well, not as much as Aaron Anderson. LOL!) to find tickets and didn't really find great ones. So, I tried out Craig's List. It was my first purchase but I must say it was a very satisfying one. Right next to the catwalk. The guitar players were playing for me and I loved it. Did I mention I am a blessed woman? I was just sitting there thinking, no way that I have these awesome seats again. Thank you, God!
I have to say, aside from a new release from both of them, it was the same exact show as last year. The same pictures, songs, lights...everything. I am not complaining because I really enjoyed the show. I love how much Tim and Faith's love for each other shows while on stage and their passion for making music. If I was the casual concert goer, I would have been disappointed.
Why can't we have concert-type fun in church? I know I do. I love every minute of it. I have to admit, there are those times when I look out and see someone so bottled up with fear, pride or overwhelmed with "stuff" that they don't even recognize any reason to praise. It is then that I just want to cry. Maybe it's because I am a girl? Or maybe it is because Jesus has brought me through so much and has used worship to help, I want that for everyone.
I remember when I first lifted my hands in worship. WOW! I turned beet red and was absolutely embarrassed. I wouldn't even sing to myself, let alone in front of anyone else. There is a first for everything and the same is true for worship. Once I started and pushed through the "firsts," the freedom and life is indescribable.
Enough of me going on and on. I want the party. I want the concert-type fun in church.
We have so much to celebrate and so much to be thankful for. No matter where I am at
